The safest & most effective hair transplant
Say goodbye to thinning hair and hello to natural-looking results with the revolutionary DHI hair transplant technique
Introducing DHI Direct Hair Implantation
DHI Global Medical Group developed DHI Direct Hair Implantation, the most advanced, safe and effective hair transplantation technique that offers a higher number of hairs per session and faster healing. Suitable for both men and women, performed only by experienced doctors, it achieves proper redistribution of hair on the patient’s head and ensures a completely natural and stunning result.
Easy as 1-2-3
1. Extraction
Selected hair follicles are extracted one by one from the back and the sides of the head using a motorized extraction device with a diameter smaller than 1mm
Follicles from this area are mostly immune to the effects of DHT androgenare, so they are genetically designed not to fall; and they maintain this nature after transferring them to the hair loss affected area, too.
2. Design
Each hair follicle may contain 1 or multiple hairs. Most of them contain 2 or 3 hairs. The extracted hair follicles are categorized based on the number of hairs they contain and counted in front of the patient. This helps the doctors to allocate them correctly in the recipient area, as designed together with the patient.
The grafts are not seperated, cut nor processed to avoid the danger of damaging them. On the contrary, they are kept at a specific temperature and in a solution whic protects them.
3. Implantation
The hair follicles are implanted one by one directly into the area suffering from hair loss using the patented and single-use DHI Implanter, with a diameter smaller than 1mm.
The DHI implanter provides to the doctor total control over the angle, depth and direction of placement. This way he can achieve an absolutely natural-looking result.
1. Extraction
Extraction is the first phase of the session and usually takes 2 to 3 hours. During this phase, the patient lies on the bed face down, and can relax by listening to some music, talk with the doctor and the nurse, or even sleep.
2. Design
Once all the hair follicles are extracted the patient and the medical staff take a lunch break to rest. A short meal is served to the patient, while the session room gets prepared for implantation.
3. Implantation
Implantation usually takes 2 to 3 hours. During this phase, the patient lies on his/her back in bed. While the doctor is placing the grafts, patient can watch a movie, use his smartphone, or even have a video call.

The DHI implanter
The DHI implanter was key to the evolution from the outdated FUE technique.
Thanks to this patented tool, our doctors got full control over the depth, direction and angle of hair placement ensuring perfectly natural result. The small size of the pen minimized the injury to the recipeint area and eliminated the need of creating incisions with scalpels.
Morover, the option for unshaven and long-hair session became available, making it possible to return at every day life quicker.

Comparing DHI to other hair transplantion methods available today
In 2002, the DHI Global Medical Group introduced the procedure known as Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and immediately stopped offering conventional strip removal surgery FUT. DHI Global Medical Group was continuously improving techniques and technologies and in 2010 introduced to the world DHI Direct Hair Implantation
FUT
Abandoned by DHI in 2002
- Invasive surgery
- Use of scalpels and stitches
- Doll effect hair*
- Prominent scar in the donor area
- Lower graft survival rate**
- 2 weeks recovery time
- Performed by doctors
- Shaving the head is required
FUE
Abandoned by DHI in 2010
- Minimally invasive procedure
- Creation of recipient holes
- Doll effect hair*
- Implantation same as in FUT
- Lower graft survival rate**
- 2-3 days recovery time
- Oftenly performed by technicians
- Shaving is usually required
DHIExclusively at DHI Clinics
Developed by DHI in 2010
- Minimally invasive procedure
- Use of the DHI implanter
- Natural results
- Direct implantation of the follicles
- Higher graft survival rate**
- 1-2 days recovery time
- Performed by certified doctors
- Option of unshaven session
*
Hair follicles placement is done the same way with FUT and FUE. Both involves blades which are used for creating hundreds of incisions/holes in the recipient area, also called recipient sites. The hair follicles are then placed in these holes, using forceps. This technique does not provide full control over the angle, depth and direction of placement. You may have noticed results with unnatural looking hair lines, aslo know as doll effect hair, which are caused due to this technique.
In contrast, with DHI the hair follicles are implanted directly using a patented single-use tool – the DHI implanter, and does not required recipient holes to be made prior placement.
**
Due to the complexity of the placement procedure in FUT and FUE, it is more possible to damage the hair follicles. For instance when the recipient holes are narrower than the follicles. Moreover, there are practitioners who process and/or seperate the hair follicles under microscopes. This prolongs the operation period and increases the risk of damaging the follicles.
Internal research based on patients who came to DHI for a correction session, showed that the growth rate with FUT and FUE (the percentage of implanted hair that survived) can be as low as 50%, while with DHI it is over 90%.
